Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire : local area and dining

Middleton Cheney lies on the borders of Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire and is ideally placed for visiting many local attractions.

It is easily accessible, lying just 3 miles from the M40 (Junction 11) and having direct mainline train services to London and Birmingham from nearby Banbury station.

All the facilities of Middleton Cheney village are within walking distance of Manor Cottage. There are two pubs, a newsagent, chemist, village shop incorporating the Post Office and a public golf course. All Saints Church, which was built in 1302, is famed for its ceilings painted by William Morris in 1865, and for the Pre-Raphaelite stained glass windows by Edward Burne-Jones from the 1870s.

Within 45 minute's drive are the pretty Cotswold villages of Burford and Stow-on-the-Wold together with historic Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon, Blenheim Palace and Warwick Castle.

The market town of Banbury is within 4 miles and has a wide selection of shops, restaurants and leisure facilities.
